Daniel 7:13-14
13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, comingwith the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
What a vision! Jesus Christ, the Son of Man being led into the presence of God the Father, the Ancient of Days. In this vision, Daniel sees the coronation of the Son of Man, the Messiah King, who has been given all authority, glory, power and an eternal universal kingdom.
At the time of Jesus’ birth, the angels prophesied, “He shall be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God shall give him the throne of David” (Luke 1:32). During his earthly ministry, Jesus refers to himself as the “Son of Man” (Luke 21:27). Daniel’s vision also includes the spectacular response to the coronation of the Son of Man – all peoples bowing down, worshipping Him, submitting to Him, and giving Him their allegiance.
Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” (Matt 16:13). How would you answer that question?
