EASTER at Covenant
This one's going to be different.
At the heart of our Holy Week focus is our own God-is-making-all-things-new story of the way Jesus came tiptoeing or crashing into our lives.
Do you remember when you first caught sight of him? Do you remember when you turned your life over to him?
HIS story
Sunday mornings, April 2 and 9, we will focus on history - what actually happened on that first Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Read more about our Holy Week sermon series on our blog.
No classes K - adult Easter Sunday morning.
In addition to looking at history, we’ll also focus on our story and each other’s story. How have I personally experienced the love of God through Jesus who died for me and rose again?
Our story
Stations and Conversations: Monday through Thursday, April 3 - 6, 6:00 - 8:00pm, Sanctuary and The Hub
Join us for a self-guided opportunity to reflect on the last week of Jesus’ life, remembering what He did for us and what His sacrifice means to us personally.
Come at your convenience, pick up a devotion guide and walk through five stations in the Sanctuary. Children’s guides also available. Then go to The Hub for an informal time of sharing your own faith story with a few others. Expect this to take about 45 minutes, depending on how quickly you go through the stations.
Families with children: Wednesday, April 5, 5:00-7:00pm will be a special time for families. Family-focused discussion leaders will facilitate family conversations following the stations. Help us ensure we have space for families by signing up for a time slot here.
Communion: 5:30pm, Thursday, April 6, Chapel
For those who desire to receive communion on Maundy Thursday, we’ll offer communion only (no music or message) before Stations and Conversations begins.
Good Friday Service: noon, April 7, Sanctuary
This is our traditional service, quiet and reflective, during which we read the seven final “words” Jesus spoke from the cross, with an opportunity to nail our sins to the cross.
Lawn Mower Tune-Up Day
Saturday, April 15
Rain date: April 22
Covenant is planning to host Lawn Mower Tune-Up Day again this spring!
8:30-10:00am: drop your walk-behind, push mowers (no riders) at the drive on the west side of Covenant's building
11:30am - 12:30pm: pick up mower
Service includes cleaning top and bottom of mower, sharpening the blade, changing oil, air filter and spark plug if available, drive belt inspection, and wheel lubrication.
All mowers are expected to be operational when received.
We need lots of volunteers from 8:00am – 12:30pm, Saturday, April 15, for the following tasks:
• Check in mowers and record owner’s names, addresses, phone numbers, then label mowers.
• Set up service tables and drop cloths.
• Provide tools to remove blades, spark plugs, air filters, wheels, carburetors.
• Set up each service area.
• Clean mowers top and bottom.
• Perform mower service and check operation.
• Collect waste oil.
• Dispose of waste products.
• Clean up and put everything away at the close of the event.
• Act as an ambassador, greet and help people as they drop off or pick up their mower.
Volunteers must be 16 years old or accompanied by a guardian. To volunteer, contact Covenant, 765-463-7303, or email Peg, by Friday, April 7. You will receive a reply by April 12, finalizing your role in this volunteer event. Thank you!
