Building Connections

The last 15 months brought many challenges and also encouraged us to pause and take stock of ministry at Covenant. As you heard during our March congregational meeting, Covenant’s Session and staff leadership has been praying, dreaming and planning for the future. We’re excited about new opportunities that will help us gather, connect and worship in deep, intentional ways.

Here’s a snapshot of the building projects being pursued:

  1. Great progress is being made on the north lawn deck, a wonderful gathering place for our congregation and the neighborhood! Dedication planned for June 13. There will be a dedication ceremony following the one outdoor, 10:30am service.
  2. New café and gathering area in the current reception space, providing folks a place to linger and chat over a cup of coffee. Bathroom renovations are included.
  3. Enclosure of the Sanctuary lobby will provide space to greet folks arriving for services without disturbing worship. This space will flow into the new café area.
  4. A new children and family welcome area inside Door 16 will provide a safe and warm space for entry. This includes a remodeled children’s gathering space in Room 123.

We’re excited to have received a $15,000 grant from the Center for Congregations to help pay for the next phase of work. We’ve hired T&W Corporation and KJG Architecture to provide architectural services and cost estimates for these projects and we hope to share architectural renderings this summer.

After construction estimates come in, the Session will prioritize the projects and kick off a capital campaign in the fall. Construction is not likely to begin until 2022. Please pray for God's wisdom and blessing as we pursue these improvements which we believe will lead to even more vibrant connections between us and with our community!
