A Glorious Failure

It just seems odd, doesn't it?

Why does Christianity focus so much on the painful failure at the end of Jesus's ministry? Why do Christians celebrate what was clearly a miscarriage of justice in the Jewish and Roman political systems, leading to the wrongful conviction of an innocent man, followed by what many believe to be the most horrible form of capital punishment known in the ancient world? Why do Christians sing of "the cross on which our Savior died" and "nothing but the blood of Jesus"?

This Holy Week we revisit what makes the death of Jesus not the low point, but the center point, of the Christian faith.
