SUNDAY MORNING LESSONS
SUNDAY MORNING LESSONS
Dear Parents,
Oh, Covid-19! It's wrecked so many plans! But we are excited that we are now able to now offer some opportunities for children on Sunday morning.
During the 10:25 in person service, children ages three through grade five will come to service with their parents and worship with them until the sermon begins. The children will be dismissed to either go on the lawn or to the Gathering Place for their Gospel Project lesson and a time to interact with other.
For those of you who are not yet comfortable attending in person, there are resources listed below for you. This includes a children's bulletin and the Gospel Story videos and handouts to help equip your children to grow in their faith. This season is hard. Please know I am praying for you!
If you have specific questions about what we are doing to keep your children safe, please refer to the our safety protocols found at the tab above.
Children's Ministry Director
The safety of your children is extremely important to us at Covenant.
For this reason, we have gone to great measures and precautions to protect our children. In addition to requiring our volunteer be vetted, trained, background-checked, and pass an online class, we also require a minimum of two volunteers with the each class. All children who attend class need to check in at our electronic check in and parents need to give parent half of the name tag to retrieve their children at the end of service.
During this covid season, we have implemented specific cleaning guidelines:

When we are not in the Covid season, here is what we generally offer at Covenant for children. We value your safety and the safety of your children, so our offerings during this time are limited. Kids Alive Preschool will operate this fall, with modifications, as will Mothers of Preschoolers, again with modifications. Covenant Cove is closed until 2021. Our Sunday morning classes are currently not meeting. We offer our weekly Sunday morning curriculum above for parents to use with their children.
SUNDAY MORNINGS
Nursery
Newborn - 18 months
Infants in our nursery are loved, cuddled and changed by volunteers who adore babies and have chosen specifically to serve specifically in this area. Our nursery also comes equipped with beepers for parents and caretakers, so we can contact you if your little one needs you.
Preschool Classes
Walkers through PreK
In these classrooms, children are divided by age and spend the morning playing, learning Bible songs, hearing a Bible story, then having a snack and activitity. Our creative and loving volunteers make each Sunday's lesson interesting and fun for your child's age.
Elementary School Classes
Grades K through 5
At 9:00am, children begin in classrooms before joining the large group worship and lesson. They then return to their classroom for small group discussion and activities. At 10:45am, children's classes combine for Children & Worship Class where they learn the wonder of knowing & worshiping God.
WEEKDAY MORNINGS
Walkers through PreK
We offer the Greater Lafayette Community high-quality and affordable childcare in a loving environment. New families are always welcome!
Classes for three-year-olds to five-year-olds
Our preschool provides excellent educational training and spiritual nurturing for each child. We believe in the power of play, as well as a gradual introduction to academics as children develop.
Mothers of PreSchoolers
Being a mom of little ones can be exhausting, lonesome and yet so rewarding. We understand! At MOPS, we offer moms small groups that meet outside or in homes with childcare, evenings without children, or through Zoom depending on mom’s social comfort level during this Covid season. If you would like more information about these groups contact Naomi Cook or Renee Sieplinga.
