David Henderson . Senior Pastor

After a little more than a year in management and marketing at Procter and Gamble, God called me into full-time pastoral ministry. Following a pre-seminary internship at College Hill Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, I studied at Gordon-Conwell, a non-denominational seminary in the Boston area, receiving my Masters of Divinity in the 80s, followed by a year in Cambridge, England, and my Doctor of Ministry in the 90s.. My ministry has centered on two great places: Covenant Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, where I served as an associate for nine years, and Covenant Presbyterian Church (now Covenant Church) in West Lafayette, where I’ve been privileged to serve since 1997. On top of the riches of these church families, God has given me the sweet gift of my own amazing family. Sharon and I have been married for twenty-six years, and we have four kids – two guys in college (Brandon and Sean) and two girls in high school (Molly and Corrie).

My interests take me lots of different directions, so at any given free moment, I might be found . . . watching the Colts game with my family, walking with Sharon, hiking and bird watching at a nearby nature reserve, reading one of the books from the stacks by my bed (and in the office, and in the family room, and in my study), having friends over, going for a bike ride, enjoying time with the Lord in the ravine behind my house, exploring Chicago, writing . . . or, of course, climbing onto my roof to watch the sunset.
